Dickinson County Cancer Closet Receives $1,000 Donation from CCI Systems Employees

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich., July 24, 2017 – Iron Mountain based tech company, CCI Systems, was at it again partnering with a local organization to do good in the community it’s so proud to be a part of.

To follow CCI’s mission to “make life better” the team utilized their onsite employee appreciation event to raise over $1,000 for the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet, a local cancer organization aimed at assisting Dickinson County residents with medical related expenses.

“This is such a great cause, we’re happy to help make a difference in the lives of those in need,” notes Rick Hurzeler, CCI’s Executive Vice President of the Partner Services division.

The Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet (DCCLC) was chosen by the CCI committee as the recipient of the charitable donation because of the effect they have had on the employees of CCI. “We all know someone that has been affected by cancer,” notes Dan Kallio, Program Manager at CCI. “If getting in a dunk tank for 15 minutes will help bring relief to someone plagued by the disease, I’m all for it. And not to mention, our employees got a lot of enjoyment out of dunking their boss.”

Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet President, Diane Schabo added, “There are no words sometimes to explain the impact we have on the lives of those who visit our organization. All the money donated by CCI will go right back to our community and allow us to continue providing assistance to those who need our help.” Schabo also joked, “It’s an awesome thing CCI did, I would have paid big bucks to dunk my boss!”

Continuing he “CCI Cares” initiative, CCI’s Partner Services division hosted an onsite, luau themed, employee appreciation event aimed at celebrating employees. The event held food, games, music, door prizes, and two events focused on raising funds for the DCCLC. CCI was able to generate over $1,100 in donations through a 50/50 drawing, and “dunk-your-boss” dunk tanks, occupied by 12 of CCI’s managers who were voted on by employees.

The Partner Services Group, a division of CCI Systems consists of four sub-divisions.
