Kicking cancer’s butt, one lap at a time.

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich., July 25, 2016 – CCI employees once again participated in the Dickinson County Relay for Life July 22 – 23 held at the Iron Mountain High School Stadium, in support of the American Cancer Society and their mission to end cancer.

nnParticipating with 24 other local teams comprised of over 130 local participants, the CCI employees made a substantial donation this year to the American Cancer Society. Through various internal events including a departmental change war, prize raffles, on-site silent auction, luminary sales, lap pledges, team shirt sales, online donations, scratch and give cards, and “walk with us” feet sales, CCI was able to raise $8,900.00 to help support cancer research. Overall, the Relay for Life of Dickinson County raised nearly $84,000.00.

“I can’t speak for everyone, but I get involved because I have family and friends that have suffered or are currently battling cancer and some that have lost their battle. I hope that my efforts will help fund more research to find a cure,” said CCI Team Leader, Patter Kelly.

All money raised through the Relay for Life events goes towards the American Cancer Society’s ongoing fight to end cancer through lifestyle changes, new approaches in therapy, and cancer research.
